What I'm Listening To: T-E-E-D's Trouble
Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs aka T-E-E-D, took my ears by storm when I first heard him (Orlando Higginbottom of Oxford, England) early this year. The debut album Trouble dropped recently and if you're still into funk electro, weird but awesome music, then you'll be happy with these few tracks I've shared. Oh, and if you live in the UK, the tour is on now.
Keep up with T-E-E-D here at the site.
Take a listen below to a few of his sounds. Enjoy!

What I'm Listening To Right Now: Heavenly Beat
I found this new band, Heavenly Beat, who just literally blows me away. Relaxing melodies, lighthearted musicianship, acoustic guitars, balearic, dream pop. Apparently Heavenly Beats' leader is former bassist of the Beach Fossils', John Pena. Kinda cool. Listen to some tracks below. Their full-length, Talent is available now. Yay!

Weekend Sounds: Norway's Love Dance
Spring time is here, and its almost time for beachy, chill jams...especially on a nice day like this. Norway's dream pop band Love Dance, is meeting my needs right now, with laid back guitar ballads, and ambient vocals, that make me think of the ultimate way to relax in a warm climate. Similar to The Radio Dept., their music will melt away negativity and stress. All three of these tracks are free downloads via their bandcamp. Too bad its only three, but hopefully more to come soon! Happy blogging.

What I'm Watching: Angela McCluskey's "Handle With Grace"
Obviously I'm in an Angie McCluskey mood. God! I love her voice. The music is courtesy of none other than Telepopmusik. Its an oldie but a goodie, and not to mention a great visual. Happy blogging!
What I'm Watching: Ethereal ft. Angela McCluskey- Don't Look Back
I literally was playing around with Google search and this little gem popped up. Ethereal remixed Telepopmusik's famed "Don't Look Back" from the album Angel Milk (its easy to pick up on Angela's vocals), and created quite a moving video via the folks at Awfully Creative. Check it out below.
What I'm Listening To: Tensai's One EP

Weekend Sounds: m-Flo and Beyonce Get Remixed by Boys Get Hurt
You know, I get really excited when this Japanese duo releases a remix, and just in time for the long weekend, we've got yet another. What I'm Watching: Niki & The Dove's "Tomorrow"
Swedish duo, Niki & The Dove, have definitely done their best not to deprive us of their outstanding music, putting out strategic tracks, on the seemingly long path to the release of their debut album, Instinct, out next month. "Tomorrow" an official single from Instinct, will be released on May 13th, one day before the release of the LP, on May 14th.
Like their previous tracks, "The Fox," "Mother Protect," "Last Night" etc. they continue their vibrant sound of drama, deep lyrics and those bright 80s inspired vocals, on "Tomorrow." Watch the pulsing video below. Happy Hump Day!

Monday Music: College "A Real Hero" feat. Electric Youth
I watched the movie, Drive last night with my sister at home, and what grabbed me the most was the music. The film is a perfect silhouette of effortless music supervision. It was highly electro and sounded acidic like the 80s. "A Real Hero," by College (feat. Electric Youth) gathered my attention the most. It's not new or anything, it's just what I happen to be jammin' to right now. Take a listen below. The Drive soundtrack is available now on iTunes.

Weekend Sounds: Phony Ppl

Video of the Day: The Lumineers' "Ho Hey"
This video and this track really puts a smile on my face. Maybe because I'm a musician and I get really into stuff imaginatively. Anyways, folkloric "follow the leader" music always makes me happy. Check the video out below and be sure to grab their self-titled debut album on April 3 via Dualtone Music Group.
Song of the Day: Meiko's "Leave the Lights On"
I saw this little lady a few years back when she was debuting her album for NBC's TV Music Dept. and I was a lowly intern, eager to hear new tunes and get them onto TV shows. She had such a clear spirit, with a clean sound, and still does. Here is the track, "Leave the Lights On" off her second album The Bright Side, out May 15! take a listen below and grab a free download thanks to Nylon Magazine and Meiko herself.

Bastille (Dan Smith) is an up and coming artist in London, and apparently he's made enough noise to capture Yeasayer's attention. Unfortunately, the "Overjoyed" Remix was a Stereogum Premiere so you have to go there to hear it. In the meantime, watch the regular version's official and might I add beautiful video below. Happy Tuesday!

Los Angeles based, (Steph Thompson) Steffaloo has been one of my faves for a minute now. Now Playing: Ackryte- "Brick Raft"
Soundcloud always hides these hidden gems, from bedroom artists you've never heard of. Isn't it great? He calls himself Ackryte (of Madison, Wisconsin) and the track is called "Brick Raft." I think what gets me is the flute that carries the beat.
Get You Through The Day Track: Bear Mountain's "Swim"

Track of the Day: Metric's "Help I'm Alive"
Hearing it on last night's Grey's Anatomy had me digging vigorously into my Metric music archives, and really got me into that "I haven't listened to this in a while" train of thought (you know, the one where you listen to everything a band ever came out with until the wee hours, as if to make up for lost time or something). Metric's "Help I'm Alive," comes from their last album, Fantasies, released last year. The band is currently working on their next album, Synthetica, out this coming summer. Its raining here in NYC, so I figured a little light rock would be appropriate. Take a listen below.

TV Music: My Modern Day Radio
Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, Grey's Anatomy, and Private Practice, Mad Men; all household names for their music placement via Alex Patsavas' exceptional music supervision skills. My music industry professor used to always say that "music supervision is modern day radio without the commercialism." Ain't it the truth.
During last night's 2 hour crossover episode of Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice, Patsavas featured music from Firehorse, Perfume Genius, Wilco, Kathleen Edwards, The Donnies The Amys, Tennis and Tika. I'm not sure about you, but this is how I discover my new favorite bands and singer/songwriters...from watching TV. Songs reach a new level of imaginative potential when matched with picture...and sometimes they just sound better that way too. I might not like a certain artist or song, but the minute I hear it placed with one moment in a visual that its perfect for, the song plays a new role.
Alex Patsavas is also the music supervisor behind the Twilight Series, which is why even though the films might not be that great to you, the music always is. Alex Patsavas' full project list can be found over at her site chopshopmusic.com.
Thanks to Tunefind, a music site that lists each song per episode of various hit TV series', we're able to grab these tracks almost simultaneously while watching the episodes or right after they've aired. The site gives links to iTunes and Amazon if you want to make a purchase, as well as giving a preview of the track to make sure that's the song you heard. It's amazing.
Next week, when you're watching TV, listen for the music. You might fall in love with what you hear.
